This audio/visual book contains ten of the more than 200 folktales assembled in the early 1800s by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, delightfully told by Martina Samp, a talented native German language teacher.  Each story contains a Quick Response Code (QR Code), which can be easily scanned by a smartphone to listen to Mrs. Samp recite the story. This provides an excellent way to hear the sound and rhythm of the language while reading the words.

TEACHERS

The folktale medium presents the stories in a predictable way while exposing students to differences between German and English sentence structure. The second half of the book contains a series of questions and answers from the text, along with assignments in grammar and word construction.  Teachers can use this section to develop homework assignments and lesson plans.
